Mamilla Cemetery in Jerusalem
The Mamilla Cemetery, Jerusalem (Ma’man Allah, in Arabic) is an ancient Muslim burial ground that is over a thousand years old. Until 1948 it was an active burial ground for some of the most prominent members of Muslim society. Now, the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center and the State of Israel are destroying and desecrating the Mamilla Cemetery to make way for the ironically-named Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem. This willful destruction of a prominent Muslim heritage site by Israel and American Zionists is being challenged by people of conscience, who value each person’s humanity and respect for ancestors, regardless of faith.

Jerusalem
Jerusalem is an ancient city located in the middle of the Holy Land or Palestine. According to the original UN Partition plan of 1947, Jerusalem should be under international jurisdiction. Israeli claims of a united Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty is completely groundless, and not recognized by any nation. East Jerusalem, controlled by Jordan until 1967, is at a minimum, occupied territory. Annexation of occupied land and migration of civilian population to that land are prohibited by international law. Despite universal condemnation, systematic Judaization and house demolitions in East Jerusalem that are employed to expel Palestinians, constitute some of the worst manifestations of Zionist activities in Jerusalem.

Ethnic CleansingThe Mamilla Cemetery issue symbolizes an important aspect of systematic ethnic cleansing attempts by Israeli Jews. The ultimate Zionist goal is to create a Jewish state in all of Ersatz Israel (Greater Israel). However, this cannot be accomplished without massive ethnic cleansing and gross violations of international law. State-mandated massive displacements of people as occurred shortly after World War II are no longer acceptable to the world community. Since 1948, Palestinians have suffered incalculably as sacrifices to fulfill Zionist hopes. Increasingly, Israel is becoming a pariah state as it continues to exercise ethnic cleansing of Palestinians over six decades. In the mean time, Israel remains a de facto apartheid state.
